Fireproof; Louis’ response to Harry’s Happily
We’re on fire, we are on fire now, we’re on fire now. I don’t care what people say when we’re together, you know I want to be the one to hold you when you sleep, I just want it to be you and I forever, I know you want to leave so baby be with me so happily.
Nobody knows you baby the way I do, nobody loves you baby the way I do, it’s been so long, it’s been so long, maybe we’re fireproof, cause nobody saves me baby the way you do.
Considering Harry wrote Happily, and Louis wrote Fireproof, I think the lyrics are almost answering in a way?
Happily is more about struggling. Harry is fed up and doesn’t care what people think and just wants to be with Louis, forever. He says that they’re on fire now.
But Louis comes back with this ridiculously adorable song about being in a loving long term relationship, about how there’s nobody else who saves him the way Harry does. (While Happily focuses on the person being with someone else, which is important.) He says that they’re fireproof.
